Van JOY Owner: work culture show flat

The first season of joy Van business already wrapped. Our visit in around 12 new companies was very enlightening. One of the things that I do not, however, notice could help is that most of the companies we visited were based at home.

Working from home has become a norm for most start-ups, no doubt. It is very likely for anyone to start a business and is quite understandable choice. Corporate Finance is to contain a headache at first, and you do not want to bother with additional costs.

At least it's one of the reasons North Fianu, brand owners of local beverage Nord decided to work from your garden and worked for him.

North quit his job to start the company in 2012, its beverage company.

"It was not just the cost of a place of rent, but also the cost of transport, on the assumption that the place of production of was quite far from home."

Benjamin Asiam-Amanfo, the pharmacy assistant Shoes now in addition to the cost, but it was also for the convenience. the porch of his house was a shoe factory.

"It is flexible and hassle free. I'm close to home and family," said Daryl Joy Kwawu business.

Adjarian Asabea Agbenu, partners, Windrow Consult admits that the culture of most start uppers was.

"They work in an environment. You can choose your working hours very comfortable, especially if you are a working mom. You get some rest when you are tired, all your stuff is a place, especially if you are forgetting the kind things more, "Ms. Agbenu said.

However, if the company is growing and customers begin to rise, their work will start uppers very uncomfortable revealing, at least some of them.

"Nobody is serious because you have a desktop computer. If you are new, they are concerned about the quality of their work, but once we grow, we hope to have an office."

Benjamin, for example, which has been in business for more than two years, there were times when it was neglected because working at home.

"Face it! The house is at home. Or wipe or be interrupted by someone and the TV does not work well, added Ms. Agbenu.

Another challenge Northern Highlights is an invasion of privacy. The fact that your house may be a little skeptical, there are exposed to use more hands. There is thus some customers uncomfortable at home.

At some point of your business, start uppers priority giant should take to enter an office.

Woman Agbenu said that it should not be a hasty decision. "Look what you and the industry that you have entered. It is usually best to break-even to wait."

But the fact work from home or decreased productivity gains? Topic for another day.
