Children under 14 years can now be involved in "work at home"

New Delhi: Today Parliament adopted the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Amendment Act 2016 prohibits the employment of children under 14 years, children of all "professional" but allows "work at home" by example to help their families in forests, fields and where small family units with the Lok Sabha ahead. "This bill is historic and will go a long way in the fight against the threat to go through child labor. For the first time, we made sure that young people 14 to 18 are not used in dangerous work," he said Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya.
